Lohne, July 9, 2008 – With the amendment of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) officially adopted by the Bundestag and the Bundesrat, EnviTec Biogas AG [ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8] believes that demand for biogas plants in Germany will pick up again. As the industry leader, the company will clearly benefit from this trend. After a difficult first half-year, EnviTec Biogas therefore projects a positive sales and earnings performance for the second half of 2008. The Executive Board expects sales of EUR 105 to 115 million and EBIT of between EUR 5 and 8 million for the full year. The positive performance in the second half of the year should continue in 2009, leading to strong sales and earnings growth.
The positive forecast is based on the company’s order backlog. At the end of June 2008, the biogas plant manufacturer had orders on hand totalling EUR 190.8 million, of which EUR 55.5 million came from abroad.

“The amendment of the EEG was a great relief for the German market. Outside Germany, interest in biogas remains high. These are excellent growth prospects,” said Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of EnviTec Biogas. Shortly after the amendment of the Act, EnviTec Biogas received the first major order from Germany, which was also the biggest contract in the company’s history. At the end of June, a leading German project company ordered biogas plants worth EUR 60 million.
