Standardised 190 KW biogas plants soon available
Lohne, 22 August 2008 – The amendment of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) dated 6 June2008 has redefined and clarified the conditions in the German biogas market, leading to rising demand for biogas plants. This is due to the fact that the new EEG provides for better promotion of biogas plants and for a special remuneration for smaller plants, thus highlighting the importance of biogas for local energy supply. “This makes the operation of small plants, which suffered particularly strongly from the fast rise in the prices of input materials, a lucrative business again,” says Kunibert Ruhe, CTO of EnviTec Biogas AG. “This is an incentive for the construction of new plants by agricultural customers.”
EnviTec Biogas, a leading manufacturer and operator of biogas plants in Europe, has responded quickly and expanded its product portfolio. Going forward, the Lohne-based company will offer standardised plants with a capacity of 190 KW. Customers will reap the benefits of standard production such as time and financial planning certainty. “Our enlarged product portfolio allows us to expand our target group,” says Kunibert Ruhe. ”In future, operators of small plants will also benefit from our sophisticated technology and the high efficiency of the EnviTec biogas plants. The new plant size rounds off our portfolio and is another step towards establishing biogas as a competitive alternative to conventional energy sources.“
The broad product portfolio, which ranges from 190 KW plants to 4 MW modules, means that EnviTec Biogas is ideally positioned to satisfy the demand from farmers as well as institutional investors and energy companies in Germany and abroad.
EnviTec Biogas AG covers the entire value chain for the production of biogas - including the planning and turnkey construction of biogas plants as well as their commissioning. The company provides the biological and technical service and also offers the full plant and operating management. In addition, the company also operates its own biogas plants. In Penkun, in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, EnviTec constructed the world's largest biogas park with an electrical connected load of 20 megawatts. Today, the company is represented in more than 14 countries throughout Europe and as well in China and India. In 2007 EnviTec generated revenues of EUR 132 million and EBIT of EUR 18 million. The EnviTec Group has about 260 employees. Since July 2007 EnviTec is listed on the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
