EnviTec AGM approves dividend of EUR 0.30

Orders on hand at EUR 217 million

Lohne, 26 June 2009 – At Thursday’s ordinary Annual General Meeting, the shareholders of
EnviTec Biogas AG (ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8) clearly endorsed the strategy of the Management Board. All items on the agenda were approved by an overwhelming majority of the shareholders. As a result, the shareholders will receive the first dividend, in an amount of EUR 0.30 per share. “We successfully mastered the year 2008, which was quite a challenging year for the biogas industry, and now want to share this success with our shareholders,” CEO Olaf von Lehmden commented on the decision.
The Management Board expressed its optimism about the further course of the fiscal year 2009. Among the key decisions taken were the discharge of the acts of the Management Board and the Supervisory Board as well as a new stock repurchase programme. EnviTec Biogas has been authorised to acquire own shares via the stock exchange representing up to ten percent of the share capital by 24 December 2010. Such a proposal had already been supported by the shareholders at the last Annual General Meeting. Since the beginning of 2009, EnviTec has repurchased a total of 150,000 own shares. The Management Board expects demand for biogas plants in Europe to pick up further in the current fiscal year. As the industry leader, EnviTec Biogas wants to benefit from this trend and grow both sales and operating results (EBIT) in spite of the economic crisis. Sales are projected to increase to EUR 150 to 200 million in FY 2009. This growth is supported by the high backlog of orders. Currently, the company’s orders on hand total EUR 217 million. More than 30% of these orders are from abroad. At the end of May, the company won a major contract from the NAWARO Group for the construction of a gas refinement plant in Germany. The contract has a volume of EUR 25 million and construction is scheduled to start in early 2010. EnviTec is currently building the world’s largest plant for the production of biogas refined to natural gas standards for NAWARO. Located in Güstrow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the plant began to feed environmentally friendly energy into the natural gas grid at the beginning of June. EnviTec wants to consolidate its technological leadership by investing in the development of state-of-the-art technologies. We place special emphasis on research and development with a view to fully leveraging the potential of biogas in the long term,” said CTO Kunibert Ruhe.
Apart from building biogas plants for customers, EnviTec Biogas also operates its own biogas plants. To finance these plants, the company has signed a new framework agreement with Oldenburgische Landesbank (OLB). “We now have credit lines in an amount of EUR 40 million to finance the expansion of our own plant operations,” said Olaf von Lehmden.

EnviTec Biogas AG covers the entire value chain for the production of biogas - including the planning and turnkey construction of biogas plants as well as their commissioning. The company provides the biological and technical service and also offers the full plant and operating management. In Güstrow, in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, EnviTec build the world’s largest plant for the production of biogas to natural gas standards with an thermal output of 55 megawatts. In addition, the company also operates its own biogas plants. Today, the company is represented in more than 15 countries throughout Europe and as well in China and South Korea. In 2008 EnviTec generated revenues of EUR 101 million and EBIT of EUR 3.2 million. The EnviTec Group currently has about 350 employees. Since July 2007 EnviTec is listed on the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
