ISO certificate confirms high quality of biogas plant construction
Lohne, 18 November 2010 – The quality management system of EnviTec Biogas AG, Lohne/Germany, which specialises in the construction and operation of biogas plants, has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. The certificate was awarded following a successful audit by TÜV Nord, an internationally accepted certification company. “The certification vindicates our strategy to attach maximum importance to quality and customer satisfaction,” said Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of EnviTec Biogas AG.
Ever since its inception in 2002, EnviTec has grown dynamically. Among the customers of the biogas plant manufacturer are farmers, manufacturing companies and investors. With a view to catering even more effectively to the requirements of the different customer groups, EnviTec Biogas introduced a quality management system at an early stage. The system clearly defines the responsibilities for the individual work processes, organises internal and external information flows and defines quality assurance measures for individual process steps. The DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 standard, which was revised in 2008, makes high demands on this quality management system.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world-leading organisation for the development and publication of international standards. ISO 9001 is accepted as the global standard for the assessment of skills for the fulfilment of quality requirements and for increasing customer satisfaction. “We happily meet the certification requirements, as they help us to continuously improve the quality of our work,” said CEO Olaf von Lehmden.
The EnviTec quality management system covers not only the construction and operation of biogas plants but also the biological and technical services offered by the company. The intensive support provided to plant operators following installation of a plant is a USP of EnviTec Biogas. At the customer’s request, the company’s experts regularly control the biological processes of a plant and make recommendations for efficiency improvements, while technical service staff assist in plant adjustments and maintenance work. “We do not leave our customers alone after the biogas plant has been installed. Right on the contrary, we are proud of the efficiency and reliability of our plants and want our customers to benefit from our experience and our expertise,” said Olaf von Lehmden.
EnviTec Biogas AG covers the entire value chain for the production of biogas - including the planning and turnkey construction of biogas plants as well as their commissioning. The company provides the biological and technical service, and also offers full plant and operating management. In Güstrow, in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, EnviTec Biogas built the world’s largest plant for the production of biogas to natural gas standards with a thermal output of 55 megawatts. In addition, the company also operates its own biogas plants. Today, the company is represented in 15 countries throughout Europe, as well as in India. EnviTec Biogas generated revenues of EUR 120 million and EBIT of EUR -0.5 million in 2009. The EnviTec Group currently has 411 employees. EnviTec has been listed on the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since July 2007.
