Varied training in sustainable professional fields with prospects of permanent employment
Welcome to EnviTec Biogas! Seven new talents started their training at the Lohne and Saerbeck sites on August 1, and another trainee has been on board since February. “With these eight new additions, we currently have 18 trainees in our group of companies, which is a record,” says Jan-Carlos Gartenschläger, Head of Training at EnviTec Biogas AG.
The number of EnviTec trainees has risen sharply since last year and has been in the double digits ever since. “By increasing the number of training opportunities, we are strengthening our two sites in the long term by promoting young talents in the region,” continued Gartenschläger. The strategy of Germany’s largest biogas producer seems to be working: “From the last training year, we can report two successful completions and thus two successful permanent positions at EnviTec,” emphasizes the HR expert. Construction draughtsman Tom Reinermann and industrial clerk Maric Fisbach were offered permanent positions.
Helping to shape the training process
The onboarding of the new talents began this week over two orientation days in Lohne and Saerbeck. After an introduction to the world of EnviTec by Chief Technical Officer Jürgen Tenbrink, the trainees headed to the team event in Ostbevern, where the prospective industrial clerks, IT specialists, warehouse logistics specialists, plant mechanics, and dual business administration students mastered challenges together as an EnviTec team for the first time.
The second day’s agenda featured the bioenergy park of Klimakommune Saerbeck. Simon Fernströning, Technical Sales Manager at EnviTec, provided information about the successful work in the local climate network and the biogas plant built by EnviTec. There was also plenty of opportunity for the trainees to exchange ideas. The training manager emphasizes that “to promote social interaction, the focus of this year’s orientation days was primarily on personal exchange and working together as a team.” The feedback and expectations of the new EnviTec trainees were positive, says Gartenschläger. “As the first apprentice in the field of plant mechanics, I’m really pleased that they have placed their trust in me to help develop the training process at the Saerbeck site,” says Len Brüggemann. Alina Dölle, who is now completing a cooperative study program in Business Administration at the PHWT Vechta, is also highly motivated: “What particularly fascinates me in the field I have chosen is the idea of reconciling economic and ecological sustainability.”
“As a driving force in the field of renewable energies, we’re delighted that young people recognize our innovative strength and want to complete their training with us,” says Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of EnviTec Biogas AG and head of HR. “In times of demographic change, being able to fill all the training positions with qualified young talent is not a given anymore – so we’re very grateful for that,” says von Lehmden. The company has trained around 50 young people to date and has employed most of them.
