Ulf Hüttmeyer and Silvia Breher join Supervisory Board of EnviTec Biogas AG

8/2/22

Shareholders of Lower Saxony-based biogas all-rounder EnviTec Biogas AG elected new members to its Supervisory Board during the virtual Shareholders’ Meeting held at the beginning of July. Alongside new Chairman Ulf Hüttmeyer, currently Executive Vice President of Munich-based EMP Structured Assets GmbH, Silvia Breher, Member of the German Parliament, has also now been appointed to the company’s governing body. “As our Deputy Chairman, Michael Böging will function as the link between the ‘old’ and ‘new’ Supervisory Board,” comments EnviTec Biogas CEO Olaf von Lehmden. Böging has been a member of the Board since 2007.

The two newcomers to EnviTec’s Supervisory Board are leading figures in business and politics. Von Lehmden: “We are proud to welcome Silvia Breher as representative of the Oldenburg Münsterland agricultural industry into our ranks.” A lawyer by profession, Breher worked as an independent solicitor. She held the position of managing director of the Kreis Landvolks Verband Vechta from 2011 to 2017 and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017.

As the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Ulf Hüttmeyer succeeds long-standing Chairman Tobias Schulz. Hüttmeyer’s distinguished career in business began with a long stint at Commerzbank, a career that not only spanned several positions within Germany but also further afield in Asia. Von Lehmden: “As a global player operating from our home base in Germany, Ulf’s experience of international business will be a very valuable asset.” Previously, Hüttmeyer worked for around nine years as CFO at Air Berlin. Following another senior management position in the aviation industry, he has been Executive Vice President at EMP Structured Assets GmbH in Munich since 2020.
